The Mississippi Mortgage Consumer Protection Law requires that each application for licensing renewal shall include evidence of the satisfactory completion of at least twelve (12) hours of approved continuing education in primary and subordinated financing transactions. Effective January 1, 2008, two (2) of the twelve (12) hours must be a course on the Mississippi Mortgage Consumer Protection Law.

 

Approved courses shall be those as approved by the Mississippi Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Mortgage Bankers Association, the National Association of Mortgage Brokers or the Mississippi Association of Mortgage Professionals, who shall submit to the department a listing of approved schools, courses, programs and special training sessions. The license year is from January 1 to December 31 and the continuing education must be completed during this time frame to be eligible for renewal.
